A LARKS’ TONGUE IN APRIL.

conversation with Morrissey,

April 2019, by Sam Esty Rayner.

*we apologize for the delay in printing this interview.

Excerpt:

"sam:
You cancelled 6 shows in Italy because of the incident. People are beginning to think your middle name is Cancellation.

M:
I know. But, as far as I can see, many bands cancel and nothing is ever said about it. The song and dance made about my cancellations is usually from people who wouldn’t go to the concert in the first place.

sam:
But you will play the Canada dates?

M:
Yes.

sam:
Is your hand bad? Obviously it’s covered.

M:
The stitches are out now but if I had shaken anyone’s hand last week blood would have spurted. That’s not a nice greeting.

sam:
I don’t think anyone ever believes that you’re ill, or that you fell, or whatever.

M:
I know. Generally colds and flu are passed on to me, and there’s nothing you can do when your voice is your instrument. I go to abnormal lengths to avoid colds."

Well you're recommending it to me so I assume have read it, that's why you recommended it right? Surely you wouldn't recommend me something based on this subject that you've never read yourself?
yeah, of course I have, i've read a lot of things *shrug*
I don't know that i could name you my favourite chapters out of any book i've read in the past, not even the ones I've reread a few times. it's not something im thinking about when reading books, since I tend to view books as a whole. the exception might be 'a rebours' in which certain chapters are definitely more interesting than others, but certainly not from a non-fiction book.

Give us a quick synopsis then, because frankly I don't believe you've read a single word in it.

Interesting. I live in Auckland a VERY multicultural city as are certain parts of Oz. When South Africans move to NZ they tend to live in a certain part of Auckland, the North Shore. Chinese, Japanese and South Koreans tend to migrate to Botany and Howick while Indians and Fijian Indians many live in Papatoetoe and Manurewa. Polynesians often go to Otara, Mangere and Manurewa as, well.

If course these are broad generalisations and people do live all over, but the areas I've just mentioned do have particularky high densities of a particular type of immigrant.

People do tend to migrate to where they see familiarity.
Yeah exactly right.

back to the topic of MORRISSEY: do yall suppose he'll show up for his Vancouver shows in October? cause I might just hang around until then (save up as much money as I can, etc), if it means getting to see him again. I really want to see him again. also to hang out in Vancouver for a week or two (hey lighthousework, wanna meet up?! :lbf:)

Brobert, I don't know how you got onto smoking weed from my post.
White privilege is not really having to be afraid of the police. And I have been judged for being white, and had people assume things about me because I was white. All people can be bigots. I understand how it can appear that anyone can be racist.
The problem is that history didn't start this morning and we both live in countries where racism was and is part of the culture. What many people are really upset about is no longer being able to express racism openly without being challenged for it. They feel victimized by this and start crying about how "everyone is so easily offended."
#snowflakes
So I guess white privilege also includes not committing 50% of the murder rate while making up only 6% of the population being young black males? Those are the statistics according to the FBI.

It all depends how you add up the numbers and when you started counting.

So ONLY Mexicans are moving across the border illegally? Really???

America has an opiod epidemic, America has a crack cocaine problem, America has homelessness issues, and America has a massive debt issue, something I am critical of with Trump when it came to his budget. Now you take all those cluster f*** issues and you throw a million illegals a year on top of that bonfire then what are you gonna get? Anyone who currently resides in America legally has a right for their govt to vet anyone new that comes to their country. That is if you value the rule of law.

As to home schooling, well I would consider it because I have the financial means to do so. The reality is that not many Maori and Pasifika people on low incomes could afford to be able to go down that route. IF I had a child that was failing in the current school system and I didn't have the means to do it myself I would absolutely look at sending them to a Charter School (NOT a Maori school as you misrepresented it.) I wouldn't hesitate for a second exploring every avenue available to me to see my children thrive in the education system.

You can teach your kids to repeat opinions by some pretty decent sources and if they're questioned on it they can claim they're being harassed, stalked, trolled, and obsessed over.

Maybe the Chameleon has kids that can argue better and your kids can

You should totally send them to the Maori school. It's their only hope.

Are you saying that the opiates that people are being prescribed, being addicted to and dying from are coming from Mexico? I thought they were coming from the pharmacy.
Of course some of them are coming from Afghanistan, which is why US soldiers are there protecting the fields.

And the national debt, owed to the people that print the money, is your issue with Trump? That's one thing that he can't really be blamed for. It's part of the system. The people that own and control the Federal Reserve also control Trump.
I don't think any of them have any trouble crossing the border.

hey, babybear, if I put my LIFE PLANS (which INCLUDE: winning a NOBEL prize for literature (DID YOU GET THAT?!) and eating the DELISH pecan braids at mark & spencer and shacking up with some geezer in exchange for handjobs) on hold, will you promise to show up in Vancouver in October? how will I know FOR SURE that you will, babybear?

Nah.

You have no life plans. You'll still be in that bedsit in 20 years time waxing on about clothes you can't afford. Tough of me to say it but also true.

So ... the Guardian stitched him up like a kipper (a possible, one-time Ukipper)? This 'interview' is proof positive that the only one, or thing, that can stitch up Morrissey is Morrissey. These contradictory musings of a conservative, racist, multi-millionaire, tax avoiding, white male give greater insight into the world of Morrissey than I think he would like. He's welcome to Farage. They deserve each other.

I'd imagine it's a matter of days before SER receives a writ from his uncle for harrassment and stalking.

I'm looking forward to hearing this new album from Morrissey. I feel like since there's been a few trips to the wilderness like Maladjusted - Quarry and Refusal - World Peace it now feels like the pipes are flowing again. If we get this new album in 2020 we've had four albums in 5 - 6 years which is pretty good. Oh and a compilation :)

Silly interview. Set up by a family member. Questions obviously structured after the responses written. No hard hitting questions or in-depth follow up. Reminds me of a Donald Trump interview on Fox News. Ass kissing, pussy questions and superficial, rehearsed answers that never get to the meat of the real questions or controversies swirling around.

An interview for Morrissey’s “base”. Garbage.

Yet you took time out of your busy life to read it, analyse it and comment upon it on a Morrissey dedicated site. How very strange.
