Never Heard Symphonies (updated, resequenced, etc) -2018-

While waiting to see if any of the above-requested tracks are shared, here's a re-up of the (complete, as far as I know) Troy Tate sessions (largely unreleased pre-John Porter attempt at the debut album).

This includes all three leak sets; the first from way back in the day (early 90s?), the second set of different takes (mixes, songs?) that leaked a few years later and then the third set that came out a handful of years ago, which were (if I understand this correctly ) superior mixes of the second set of leaks as well as a few up-til-then-unsurfaced alternate takes of songs. This third set, as featured here, is the one unofficially re-mastered by Drew from Analog Loyalist.

I may have re-sequenced some of the sets to form running orders that suit my tastes but the tracks in each folder are specific to the leak set each folder is labeled as.

This download also contains a subfolder of an alternate unofficial master of the third set by someone on (I think) Smithstorrents; can't recall who, and the parenthetical descriptors in the filenames in that folder are that individual's, not mine.

To be honest the Troy Tate thing kind of puts my head in knots; learn more about it in much greater detail from the Solo Wiki or on Passions Just Like Mine.

Mr. Jackpots, some of the MediaFire links on the last page have gone bad. It looks like it's due to a copyright detection on some of the files.

Perhaps find a different file host? I wish I had suggestions. I can't imagine the links would stay good for any longer if you just re uploaded them to MediaFire again.

Can you be more specific? Which links? I haven't received any notices from Mediafire on my end nor have they removed anything I've uploaded as far as I know.

It's worth noting that another person had a similar issue in a different thread but it ended up being a browser issue or something. Other uses were able the same links with no problem.

The thing is, I don't really know another hosting site nor do I have the time to search for one, re-upload, etc. A lot of these files are huge and Sendspace, for instance, caps uploads at 300 megs.

google drive
I never had problems with Mediafire until the last year or so. The weird thing is that it's only certain songs. Your second link on page one wouldn't work for me because one song is "available on Amazon." I don't think it's an issue with google drive. There is also Mega.NZ that gives 50 gigabytes free compared to google's 15. They want phone numbers to get an account but you can get around it.

All of the links are working fine for me. It might be a browser issue. I even checked the 1-17-18 pack and it worked fine.

Also, thanks a million for all of the work that you are putting into this. These downloads have been a dream come true for me. I can't thank you enough for all the joy that you have brought into my home over the last week or so. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

These are all great! I haven't tried downloading all of them but of the one's I did only the Quarry one did not work. It says "permission denied" and has an ad saying I can buy the track Mexico on Amazon so I assume it is because of copyright detection?

Never mind me, I missed the post saying it was a browser problem, the download was available in firefox. Weird that it was flagged in the other one.

Many thanks to Dirtee Rephlex for salvaging my crude attempt at a fan edit in the form of Seasick Yet Still Docked (Bukowski mix).

I put this together back in, probably, '09 or '10 if I had to guess, and it was a part of the early editions of The Never Heard Symphonies. For some reason I later threw it out. Listened to it again; it's not half bad.

2009 BBC Theater performance of Seasick with samples from the films Barfly and Factotum, with Bukowski spoken word peppered in.

Added to the Years Of Refusal edition of the NHS.

If you're having problems downloading any of the zips, try opening an incognito window (what it's called in the Chrome browser) and try from there. I ran into the same issue mentioned above, I think Mediafire is setting cookies and trying to throttle downloads. Downloading from an incognito window or different browser should solve it.

Thanks so much for sharing these gems!

I have said it before and I will say it again.....these compilations are magnificent and thank you for taking so much time to pull them together on our behalf. All I need now is a few extra days each week to listen to them all but I will get there!!

I'm glad everybody enjoys the compilations but again I want to make it clear that I'm only the humble curator; I'm sure I wouldn't know the names of all of the original sources but I in no way provided any of this material in the first place. The original sources are myriad and the debt to them is inestimable and of course ultimately all credit goes to Morrissey. Most of this stuff is unbuyable but there are exceptions and if you can buy it, buy it; it's the right thing to do.

I have the 480 mb version shared here too, but that's some serious overkill for one file.
Will send if needed.

Thank you for the files. Yes I am very familiar with Drew's site and posts and his treatment of the Smiths stuff; they are the copies I've been including in the NHS.
