The album will have twelve tracks and was recorded by the same producer of The Strokes and U2.

Singer-songwriter Morrissey, a former lead singer of the English band The Smiths , first laid out details of their new album, which will be released in March 2019.

In an interview with Folha , the British said that the album will be called "California Son" and will bring twelve songs written by a collection of American composers.

The album was produced by Joe Chicarelli - who has worked with names like The Strokes, U2 and Elton John - and recorded at the famous Sunset Sound studio in Los Angeles. "Joe brought in a lot of new musicians and we experimented with a lot of sounds. Everything went fantastically well and we are proud, "said the singer.
The album will feature the participation of singer Laura Pergolizzi, better known as LP, in two tracks. She has written songs for Rihanna and Christina Aguilera.

In April of this year, Morrissey announced on its website that it had completed recordings of a new single, also at Sunset Sound in Los Angeles.

It's "Back on the Chain Gang," written by Chrissie Hynde and recorded by The Pretenders in 1982. The song, which has been played live by Morrissey since 2017, is likely to be part of the new album.

I would but with you being a sycophantic moron you don't think racism exists because Morrissey told you so.

I like getting bad ratings from you as it generally means I've made a good point. I'm assuming I'll get one for the above, thanks in advance.

Morrissey isn't saying that racism doesn't exist.
He's saying almost exactly what you just said: When you downvote me, it means I've made a good point = When you call me racist, it means I've made a good point. Same concept.

I’ll remind you of this post when he announces his retirement in the next couple of years and one day I might just copy and paste your death threat you made to me, to your local police station for a laugh.
Good luck with that little sandbox kid. Moz retiring when he gets old will hardly be news to anyone but what we all wanna know is when the hell The Rolling Stones will retire cause although human dinosaurs are fascinating they also come across as very tragic.
People are supposed to die when they look dead not live on looking dead like The Stones have for the past 30 years.

Boyzone tickets are still available for a snip at €65 ex fees if it's value you're after, or Westlife for €69,50. Enjoy
Kesha is sold out until the end of the world but Jenelle Evans probably have tickets.

Worth remembering, folks, that this isn't an official announcement. It's just a comment that Steve is thought to have made in an interview. Really need a press release off the record company before we get too carried away...

I would be nice if there’s a Prince song on “California Son.”

“When you were mine”, “Strange Relationship” or “Sometimes it snows in april” would be great choices.

I miss Prince.

He his finished in Europe due to his stupid out of touch comments and he is now struggling to sell tickets in the so called Moz Angeles. Mexico still seems to love him but he is that desperate to cling onto an audience he is now willing to play in Canada, what next, mainland China? His last album was a massive commercial flop and this latest offering is the last chance saloon. I hope it’s good and I hope I and others enjoy it but I have a feeling that it will be another failure on his part and that Morrissey Solo will soon become a site where everyone can reminisce about an artist who was absolutely fantastic in his early years and became an absolute arse in his latter years.

The people he chose to surround him have had such a jolly ride out of it all and that's how it all went tits up.
I can't see a covers album raising any eyebrows to be honest. It's like throwing the towel in, He can't write + present line up can't write + can't shift tickets + Joe bringing new musicians in = NOT GOOD (I hope I'm wrong but I can't see it)

I'm off to Birmingham now, don't forget to change those clocks people :thumb: The dark nights are drawing in.

I'm gonna carry on loving my Morrissey. I was affected by The Smiths and I'm still excited by a new release. I got tempted to decry Morrissey because he's not behaving how I feel he should. Oh for god sake, f*** me. I'm still the biggest fan. The magic remains. And I've been to his house and I've talked to his mum and I have a postcard from Mike Joyce praising me for my demo tape. And I've spoken to Angie so I've probably been more of a fan than many people on this site.

And to add to your list I have replied to you on Solo :tiphat:

You are the fan.

What he was saying was you aren't allowed to make racist remarks anymore while making racist remarks. Oh and like the rest of his life it's everyone else not him.

My local police would laugh and probably section you, you drama queen.

Crying to moderators... the police... what are you gonna do next , join the #MeToo movement?

You are a sad, sad person.

And people who report supposed death threats (lol) to the police 'for a laugh' get done for wasting police time.

So dry your eyes and ask yourself why you use this site as you aren't even a Morrissey fan.

I’ve seen Morrissey countless times over the years including in February on the recent tour and I can do what I want thanks.

Let's have a serious discussion for a change..what was the reason for the cancellation of the last European tour really? Ticket sales?

I saw a couple of his (4) sold out London shows this year. The ticket prices were exorbitant but the crowds turned up. As soon as I read that he was playing that arena in Berlin I knew he'd never fill that. It was a Fleetwood Mac size venue and to schedule the gig on the day of the World Cup final was also stupid. Two shows in Manchester..wouldn't one have been enough. I really think the ticket prices are ludicrous, considering there's no expensive dancers, light shows, support etc. I've always questioned this 'special' relationship between M and his fans..it seems ridiculously one-sided to say the least. Any thoughts?
