Further to discussion in the Bangkok and Hong Kong thread, this appears to have been confirmed in the last ~10 hours - as this tweet was still promoting it then:

He could very easily either A. Just do songs that don't need a keyboardist, would be quite interesting and a welcome departure from the usual sets or, B. Just find a new keyboardist??? Gustavo is still alive, no? I struggle to believe that there's not a single keyboardist on the face of this earth who would be able to replace Camila for this (very short) tour. I feel unimaginably sorry for all the people who bought tickets for these dates.

Don’t forget the dozens of Smiths/Morrissey cover bands around the world. Surely one of those bands would yield a keyboardist who would love to play with Moz!

People have been saying his career is over since the 90s and look how that turned out :)

Thats true but I’ve never seen anything like what’s going on now before, The cancelling of shows almost daily is poor and the lack of proper information is shocking as it’s leaving people wondering weather to book travel etc. Next time he plays that part of the world (he may not bother) the venues will be smaller due to what’s happening now but he will blame everyone but himself.

To me now that the Asian dates have been cancelled it's left a bad taste for the whole Australasian tour even if he does the Australian gigs. I can't believe I'm saying this but I'd prefer a refund vs the gigs. If it was due to sickness, that I can understand fully, but if it's because of this woman's foot then I really don't know what to say. It's clear they're just going to let us sit here and stew in our own confusion. Cancel the tour so we can get on with our lives.
you know whats going to happen, the fact that you now want them cancelled means that they will probably go ahead, its the strange way things happen in life.

I agree. But according to @gashonthenail, Morrissey is doing well.
I just don't think we should assume that this is something to do with ill health. Moz has spent his entire life doing what he wants to do. Simple as.
If he does go out on the town with Noel any time soon though, I think Moz will be the one expected to bring his credit card...

It is VERY unlikely these cancelations are anything to do with Camila’s misfortune. Even if it were, Gus is a little busy, tbh.
Totally agree. This is nothing to do with Camilla's foot.
If I were a betting man I would put money on the Australian shows going ahead. My guess is the cancellations have been mostly driven by set transport costs, exorbitant post-pandemic, and poor ticket sales that have made the transport costs simply not worthwhile.

Technical issues isn’t broken foot (for a keyboarder, people travel and perform with worse..).

What a total farce and shame on him for not even putting a statement out to the fans.

Anyone defending him is a fool.

Cancelling a future date for 'technical reasons'? That's pathetic. A 'technical reason' is something like 'All the fuses blew because the stage was hit by lightning 1 minute before the band were due to start.' It's not 'our keyboard player hurt her foot and we couldn't be arsed replacing her or removing keyboards from the set.' Ffs there are a million solutions to that problem. Absolute blatant disregard to fans with that chickenshit excuse of 'technical difficulties'. What planet do these people live on? Is it a passport issue or what? You don't jerk around your fans like that. We don't have the full story but come on. Technical difficulties now for a concert on Nov 22nd? Maybe camp Moz can save future airline crashes if they can see into the future like that.
Exactly this. Technical reasons as in low ticket sales.

How noble of him to release a statement to the fans… oh wait…

Australia will go ahead as tickets sold.

I feel sorry for anyone defending him and this absolutely appalling behaviour from him, and his utter disrespect for his fans. Each to their own but seriously…. Wake up.

Hearing rumours from within Camp Morrissey (ooo-er) that the technical reasons relate to The Evil Tour Manager forgetting to pack the travel adapters, so they can’t plug anything in. Morrissey sent Damon out to get some plugs (and a litre bottle of vodka) in Bangkok three days ago but he has yet to return.

Oh I don't disagree with you but this isn't going to end his career, but it won't bloody well help it any either. If this entire tour gets cancelled with no explanation apart from some instagram pics from his new keyboardist I won't be buying any tickets if he tours here again until the day before the concert. Here in Australia we get so excited because he basically tours here once every decade so it's a very big deal. In that excitement we forget how flakey he can be.

This seems the most likely. Also things like the costs of spending 7 nights in hotels between Singapore and Hong Kong would have added to the cost. Flying in and out of 5 countries for 5 seperate shows is going to be tough to break even, unless every show is a sellout.

Of course, Morrissey should have so much money in the bank at this point, you'd think he could afford to play these shows even at a loss, if was determined to engage positively with fans and look into the long-term promotional benefits of honouring shows. Ditto with any personnel issues, either due to illness, or passport issues etc. If Morrissey was determined to play these shows, then he'd draft in a replacement session player and soldier on - even if he was just left playing a stripped down acoustic set.

But he's not that kind of artist, and never has been.

Lol maybe. It's a big deal when comes to our shores over this way. Next time I'll know better not to get excited :)

Low ticket sales is a definite possibility. I think two shows for Sydney and two for Melbourne was a mistake. Our country is too damn big and sparsely populated to cover that many gigs. One night in Sydney and Melbourne sold out but the extra nights did not. His fan base just isn't big enough here.

Anyway I'll be asleep in a few hours and will be waking up to some news in the morning hopefully. Good or bad, I'll take it and get on with it.

Live Nation Japan haven't nixed the listing yet, but as per above (via someone with 28 followers on X), their missing venue event information is correct.
Will move these in to a separate post when the promoters officially confirm it.

its a pain in the rectum for people with tickets who are just waiting on any announcement whether it goes ahead or bites the dust.

I'm out of practice with cancelled Morrissey concerts because of how rarely he comes here. In the scheme of things it's not that big a deal. Plenty of other shit happening in the world that makes this pretty damn small.

That. And that he’s not well, and it’s easier canceling rather than dealing with the circus of trying to make it work. Remember Morrissey doesn’t have a proper team, and he’s been known to simply shut down and draw the blinds on more than one occasion.
