Further to discussion in the Bangkok and Hong Kong thread, this appears to have been confirmed in the last ~10 hours - as this tweet was still promoting it then:

From boring set lists to bizarre cancellations and an album release cloaked in mystery , the 40 years tour rolls on ……absolutely love Mozi forever, but WTF?

Cancelling a future date for 'technical reasons'? That's pathetic. A 'technical reason' is something like 'All the fuses blew because the stage was hit by lightning 1 minute before the band were due to start.' It's not 'our keyboard player hurt her foot and we couldn't be arsed replacing her or removing keyboards from the set.' Ffs there are a million solutions to that problem. Absolute blatant disregard to fans with that chickenshit excuse of 'technical difficulties'. What planet do these people live on? Is it a passport issue or what? You don't jerk around your fans like that. We don't have the full story but come on. Technical difficulties now for a concert on Nov 22nd? Maybe camp Moz can save future airline crashes if they can see into the future like that.

Setlist wasn’t a bore, the four night I seen him in NY. And the audience around me really seemed to be enjoying themselves too.

But otherwise? Yeah, it’s been a mess.

He could very easily either A. Just do songs that don't need a keyboardist, would be quite interesting and a welcome departure from the usual sets or, B. Just find a new keyboardist??? Gustavo is still alive, no? I struggle to believe that there's not a single keyboardist on the face of this earth who would be able to replace Camila for this (very short) tour. I feel unimaginably sorry for all the people who bought tickets for these dates.
Morrissey's voice is better than ever. Announce a change to 'all acoustic' and offer refund for fans not happy with that. Then go ahead with the concerts. It's not rocket science. Where there's a will there's a way. Obviously there is no will.

As much as I love Moz concerts I couldn't stomach four concerts back to back unless the setlist changed dramatically. What's the point?

An unplugged, acoustic Morrissey gig would be f***ing incredible - but highly doubt he'd ever do that.

Yeah I hear you but Jakarta being only a week from Sydney gigs doesn't fill one with much hope.
You're 100% right. It's not too much to expect a concert to go ahead. You paid for it. End of story. Cancellations should be absolute last resort for any artist when all other options are exhausted.

Well maybe the 5 days in between the Jakarta date and Japan was considered a ‘technical issue’ ? Why fly out to the single Jakarta show then have to waste five days until Tokyo ? When it makes more sense to do Japan, etc. Just more speculation.

Brett Anderson from Suede did/will be doing more concerts with the Paraorchestra. Sublime songs transformed by a very special orchestra, breathing a different life into cover versions and Suede songs. Moz should do that. He doesn't need any band really to do a great concert. He should change it up and move out of his comfort zone for once.

Yah but you commit or you don't. And he doesn't. Go on holidays in between. Ffs he makes more money on one concert than most people ever see in their bank account. He's not destitute. He should suck it up and move on.

I suspect Australia will go ahead without issues, if only for the fact that Moz and Damon could do with a holiday somewhere nice and hot.

Yes he hasn’t been committing. So with the new arrangements/the recently canceled dates. I can see how what I said in my prior post can be considered a ‘technical issue’.

Anyway, I’m sure M is leaving it up to Donnie the tour manager to tell the venues what to say.

I was a bit critical of the setlist when the tour started. But once I was actually experiencing the shows in person it didn’t matter at all. It was simply four wonderful nights, so glad I went. Definitely would have regretted it if I didn’t go.

It is VERY unlikely these cancelations are anything to do with Camila’s misfortune. Even if it were, Gus is a little busy, tbh.

Do we know if the cancelled shows sold well? Can't recall if they posted about how they were selling fast or sold out on Morrissey-Central.

Would be sad if true but... the Australian dates have sold well so might have a better chance if that's the reason.

I live in Tokyo and have a ticket for Toyosu Pit show on November 28. The show in Tokyo will go on as scheduled, SO FAR. The promotor/Live Nation Japan hasn't given us any information on canceling or refunds, SO FAR.
I await with baited breath....this month was gonna be a one two punch of suede then morrissey a week later...well see....i just cant see them bothering with the travel to tokyo for just one day though. If this is a scam issue...then Tokyo shouldnt be affected purely on that...Tokyo has too many safeguards in place against scammers. Its impossible to even resell here.

I live walking distance from the spot.. over in kachidoki...its such a perfect setup...i hope it works out

I was checking the ticket links to this show a few days ago when the other cancelations were happening and it would go to a page that said there isn't anything here, or something like that. So, it appears they knew a few days ago and stopped selling tickets.
I guess maybe for the other shows, try that and see what happens?
