Big Mouth Strikes AGAIN! Morrissey is filmed from his BA business class seat demanding to be 'let off' the plane that was grounded due to stormy weather

Excerpt:
Severe thunderstorms meant his flight from London Heathrow to the Irish capital was diverted to Shannon on the west coast of Ireland where it sat on the tarmac for almost two hours until the weather improved.

But once on the tarmac, witnesses said Morrissey demanded to speak to the captain and asked to be 'let off' the Airbus A320 as he didn't 'want to be hanging around in [a] coffin' for hours.

Video passed to MailOnline shows him standing at the front of the plane, in a blue suit, talking to a cabin crew member who is heard telling him: 'We have to put the paperwork in the computer, close the door and then off we go'.

What are the odds on a Dodwell article in which she praises Moz for being the only artist brave enough to stand up to British Airways?
He will have been on the blower immediately orchestrating that, it'll be out soon.
Horror of a man.

This passes as news nowadays - Grumpy drunk man showing his unhappiness with a delayed flight.

More worrying is the probability this is the same blue suit he was sporting in Harrogate recently.
He’s obviously drunk and the article states so. He didn't just clap, the article implies much more happened including Morrissey attempting to leave the plane. Part of this fracas is shown at the end of the video with the Captain instructing him to sit down before take off. People have been arrested for a lot less on aircrafts and its very reminiscent of Lee Ryan’s recent meltdown which was pursued by the courts. https://www.standard.co.uk/news/cri...itish-airways-abuse-plane-staff-b1052539.html
It's absolutely nothing like Lee from Blue's meltdown.
Do they serve alcohol to passengers on planes?
British Airways do, allegedly it's unlimited too on long haul flights but I think after about 5 hours there is an unwritten understanding that most people will fall asleep.... After drinking in the airport for 3 hours and on the flight for 4 or so hours as well.

I was on a flight to Mexico recently (from the UK) and they ran out of booze - or at least they said they did cos some folks were getting a bit rowdy. Not me I hasten to add.

Well good for him to speak his mind and ask to be let off the plane - after getting from London to Shannon (that takes less than 2 hours) and still have to wait 2 hours on a plane, in the country of destination (no visa issues) ... you do wonder why they don't allow people off indeed. It's not as if the plane was flying anywhere: it was basically a noisy bus parked in the middle of nowhere, going nowhere, waiting for the weather to clear up (again, what were the odds that you could be stuck there for another 3 hours ... it's Ireland, remember?).

Why is it "unreasonable" to ask to be let off and go and wait somewhere else - unless of course you agree with the basic presupposition that once you board a plane, you're just a nobody who has to obey and endure and never ever will you be able to speak your mind or decide for yourself. Or if you dare to, you're considered to be drunk and misbehaving by the moral horsemen.

Cattle of the world, unite and fly over?

You can always tell the calibre of a person by how they treat low paid service staff. He’s behaving like a boorish director of a small company, pissed up in the golf club and wanting to drive his Volvo home. Utterly vile, what on earth has happened to him?

Suppose BA bans him from flying with them for a couple of months and that he can’t make it to Israel as a result. That would be another tour cancellation excuse to be added to the (long) list :ROFLMAO:
I can't imagine any airline company with an eye on their PR would want to be seen to penalise or criminalise behaviour such as this. The crew made a good call by just getting on with their job and responding with humour. What we can see in the video is a passenger complaining about a significant delay and rerouting. Is the passenger complaining in an adult and polite way? No. Is the complaining behaviour sarcastic and a bit disagreeable? Yes. Does the complaining behaviour cross over into being abusive, intimidating, or disruptive? No. Most of the other passengers probably shared Moz's frustration.

I wouldn’t call pilots low paid.
Celebs have done much worse on planes, the stones smashed up hotel rooms and Bowie bedded teenagers etc etc I’m sure you can think of worse.
This is all very mild in comparison

The sad thing about all this though, and other negative press such as the walking off stage incident, is that it doesn't help him get a record deal. There is a really horrible feeling that, unless Moz releases the recent studio albums himself, we may never get to hear them until after he has died.

This is typical Morrissey, and not necessarily in a bad way. He is pissed off with something, and everybody else probably feels the same way but he is the one who says something about it while everybody else is quiet. Story of his career.

It is quite a non-story and definitely not the hit piece Central is worried it is. Nobody will remember this in a couple of months.

Or a couple of days.

the really sad thing is the medias lack of using any other headline than bigmouth strikes again, how many times has this been used.

Isn't it ridiculous that we live in a world where a pop or rock artist's album cannot get released because of "bad" behavior? Wasn't rock music originally was about rebellion and misbehaving and speaking your mind and doing what you want and to hell with authority and all that? What has happened that now everyone in the rock world must act pious and priestly at all times or their music will be held back from fans?

I have and have not been offered alcohol lol

It is my understanding it often is offered though?
Anyway, I was just thinking it'd be quite curious if being drunk on a plane was some kind of criminal offense if they serve alcohol on planes in the first place.

They have a choice to drink as much as they want or not. But they don’t have a choice to leave the plane during this here recent and ongoing circumstance because there is no safe option given to leave the plane.

Morrissey did NOTHING wrong. He did NOT bully anyone. He acted like a fool. And more people should act like fools, it is protest, and if done, eventually the airline personal would demand a change from their superiors.

This seems the only way. After being through the long exhausting soul draining experience of flying, especially when gone wrong, people are simply too disgusted and too tired to go in person or online later to fill out complaints, which obviously, as we can see, doesn’t help anyway.

We all do it to greater or lesser extent out of fear, fear of being judged. So this is why it’s so sad when people, both the passengers and the airline attendants/personnel, keep their mouth’s shut and behave subservient, and accept it as the norm. For some situations, such as this and love, to act a ‘fool’ and speak your mind, is what is called for.

.

Thank God, there’s one man on this plane that’s not afraid to speak up and talk to someone face-to-face. All the rest are a bunch of cowards call claim they didn’t say anything because it was impolite not because they were afraid.

It’s sad that a 63 year old man who once wrote “it takes guts to be gentle and kind” is reduced to such childish, spoiled behaviour. As if an airline company can control the weather, or is going to get the steps to the plane out because he is acting petulantly. He really needs to stop drinking, no wonder his lyrics have been so poor for twenty years.

He hardly "spoke his mind" he whined and clapped derisively like an annoying curmudgeon.
