Arguments can be made that Hatful and Bona work almost as regular studio albums, since the material on these compilations is culled from specific periods in time (1983-84 and 1988-90, respectively), they have a cohesive sound and don’t run overly long. With this in mind, I will now post a new, updated list:

It strikes me the trajectory of the Smiths and Moz albums in that first 5-6 years is very similar. Strong debuts, difficult second albums, then two crackers.

I'm surprised to see Dog in any of the lists... It has a few very strong tracks, but I find it un-balanced - and there are quite a few fillers on there, I think... I never listen to the whole album anymore...
