MESSAGES FROM MORRISSEY on MORRISSEY CENTRAL

Dayum! This post from Tony reminds me of that episode of The Simpsons where Homer is contemplating taking his life. He says his heartfelt goodbyes to Marge, Lisa and Maggie, then gets to Bart and says something like: “…uh, I like your sheets.” The best thing he could think to say about him.
His post reads the same. LOL
Someone should let Visconti know that it wasn't anyone to do with the studio that issued that remix. An ingenious fan used Morricone's original strings from an official "making of" video and laid them over the CD version.Further to the three Visconti FB replies & image highlighted here last Thursday

Moz and Tony did a good one in Rome.
That Ringleader came bangin' out the gate.
Thanks for sharing - I was always wondering how the strings version of "Dear God Please Help Me" could have been fan-sourced without access to the full session tapes - ergo, The Studio Owner's Father Who Was Not Thrilled, if you will.Further to the three Visconti FB replies & image highlighted here last Thursday

I think it's arguable. But I also think what the f*** are you doing working with someone who many consider to be among the most important musicians of the 20th century if you're just going to dump his work? Might not be so bad if you don't then go on to use his name as a celebrity collaborator and make everyone think he wrote a nothing string arrangement for you, which is pretty cheeky, really.I have to say I'm with Moz and Visconti on this - whilst I might not have stripped it back quite as much as they did, Morricone's arrangement was a bit too busy and ultimately worked against the effectiveness of the song - sometimes less is more.
