Yesterday I received a phone call from a friend whose sister works for an entertainment organization in Florida. In short he said Morrissey would be playing a show near Clearwater, Florida on October 31st. This is NOT a rumor the show has definitely been booked. I don't know if it's been officially announced yet or if tickets are on sale. I highly doubt Morrissey would do a one off show only in Florida - Does anyone have other information about possible dates and venues?

UPDATE 8/22, 10:40am PDT: From Stan and also ladronic from the comments section, details for Clearwater and Atlanta are at Ticketmaster.com:

Silent Grey to open for Morrissey?
I was in Rosaritto Mx, and some guy knew I was a Moz fan and told me his band Silent Grey will open for him in LA. Another guy who was there said he had lunch at Morrissey's house in LA. The guy said he was the drummer for Silent Grey - I didn't get a name.

I know this is very trivial but on nerve.com there is a "Position of the day" section" (pages full of different (funny?) sex positions) and one of them is called the 'Morrissey' (= not touching each other)... I found the link to this site on humo.be (the most popular website in Belgium).

Two Moz-related items in this month's issue of Select magazine (UK).

1) In a feature on The Deftones
:
He’s [singer Chino] still got one ambition left to realise. “One day I’m going to record a Morrissey track. Oh, it will happen,” he says enthusiastically. “Maybe ‘Will Never Marry’, it’s such a soothing song.”
2) In a feature on trance DJ Paul Van Dyk:
“Imagine it,” he recalls today, “12 years old, doing your homework in grey Eisenhüttenstadt, in grey East Berlin, the radio on in the background. Then suddenly this thing comes on, and I’m like, ‘Wow, what’s this?’”

‘This’ was The Smiths – ‘Western bourgeois decadence’ personified…Paul tracked down an English-German dictionary and obsessively began to translate Morrissey’s words, teaching himself English in the process…“For years I took ‘Hand In Glove’ literally, and I thought Morrissey only liked girls!”

I just got an e-mail from my local DVD provider, stating that on September 18th the Live in Dallas DVD will be released in Europe. There's no detail of any additional material compared to the VHS version.

Alain Whyte will be appearing with Tim Polecat, John Willoughby and Jeff Dilenna at Downtime on Friday and Rodeo Bar on Sunday this coming weekend. The gig at Downtime (friday) will be opening for rockabilly boogyman Robert Gordon and should be pretty crazy. The gig at Rodeo (Sunday) will be The Tim Polecat and Friends show and looks to be an equally crazy date! I hope to see some of you there. For any more info contact me at [email protected]

At 12:30pm today (GMT) on a low-budget show called Quotation Marks (presented by the newly lard-shedded Vannessa Feltz) Morrissey was among Oscar Wilde and George Orwell to have a quote of his presented to the panel of contestants. They had to unscramble an anagram of his name whilst being read the quote...it was (although this is from memory...so don't tell me off if it is wrong!)..

"I think I'm rather loved than admired...I prefer it. Eric Clapton is admired, but who could love him? His own mother perhaps."

P.S The anagram of his name was SEMI SORRY...
