My thanks to Helena Figueiredo for the excellent photo retrospectives of Morrissey's two concerts in Portugal back in October 1999. I apologize to Helena for taking so long to put them up:

** Reminder - the Morrissey Party in Oporto Portugal is happening this Friday - March 3. (website)

And here's a rumor regarding Portugal, anonymously sent a couple months ago:

...One thing I neglected to mention Morrissey is said to be looking to move away from Los Angeles and possibly to Portugal.

Again who knows if this is accurate or just something being kicked around. All that was said was something like "Morrissey spent some time in Portugal and loved it there and is having somebody look for a place for him to buy."

Coming to Portugal? Wahoo! I knew he'd come back to Europe. Once he gets there, I'm to go after him, kidnap him, hide him in my wardrobe and pass him cream crackers through a slit in the door.

It's all falling into place...

I don't think he'd possibly move to Portugal permanently -- how would you like to live in a country whose language you don't know (and are most probably too lazy to learn either)? Okay, you get along with English almost everywhere nowadays, but... how come then that he's chosen L.A. for the last couple years? Just cuz it feels so much more comfortable to walk out on the streets and hear your own language spoken by what's not the minority of the people you meet. That's an important factor you mustn't forget...

Holly...
How can you say that? The first language of Portugal is English! When I have been there I haven't heard a word of Portugese. Everyone is nice there as well. Me and my family were even considering to move out there at one point. Well, it is a bit mad on the roads. But if he moves there he is closer to me than all you lot...HA HA HA....

By the way, in response to #4...

Moz Angeles!!! That is very, very, very sad. Hang your head in shame. No wonder Morrissey needs to get away..take my hand darling..I'll guide you...

hi, helena and company. it was just great to see your pictures here. I came to Portugal from Mallorca, Spain with a good friend. We made Madrid-Oporto-Lisboa and back by car. It was hard but so nice. We met a lot of spanish fans there. It was a good audiencie (spain and portugal) wasnīt it? I remember you all perfectly. I was at the front line in Lisboa and I saw when they took your camera and saw you crying just next to me. I also had a few words with the gorila who threw your friend against us back just when at the end he just tried to say hi to Moz. I also have a big piece of Morrisseyīs t-shirt from the concert in Oporto. It was so nice to remember those concerts today. Thanks and keep in touch. Your friend in Mallorca... Juan Carlos Triay

It seems unlikely that any information about Morrissey moving is accurate. Also, the majority language in LA-it's SPANISH.

Well,itīs a great pleasure for me,knowing that Morrissey is looking for a house in Portugal. Finally, after all these years,he decided to appear in Portugal for two concerts.I think that itīll be nice if Morrissey decides to buy a house here.I donīt see what is the problem with that.Morrissey always had many fans in Portugal, and the language is not a problem for a very inteligent person like him.

I don`t really care if Morrissey chooses to live in Portugal or L.A. I just want to be at as many concerts as i can in Portugal or nearby
