Here's a video link which, when started at 18m 25s, gives the full report on the activities of September 30th at the Salford Lad's Club, which was a fantastic day for all concerned. Not mentioned in the reports is that The Smyths played at the SLC too, and were excellent as usual. There's also a trailer.

hmorrissey! morrissey! morrissey!

Excerpt:

From Brad Schelden of Amoeblog

One of the fun parts about working at Amoeba is the occasional celebrity sighting. I thought I should tell y'all that yesterday around 6ish we had an extra special shopper in the store: none other than Morrissey! He's playing a bunch of shows at the Fillmore so it makes sense that he would pop into Amoeba for a tic with his manager in tow.

Fake Smiths memorabilia turn up on eBay

eBay is auctioning fake Smiths memorabilia. One of the fake items that has been up lately is a music sheet for the Morrissey song "Everyday is like sunday" which was supposedly signed by both Morrissey and Johnny Marr. In a post on his website, Johnny Marr now warns for these kind of fake eBay auctions saying: "People should be very cautious when buying anything that's not verified. Smiths memorabilia is going at expensive prices and there have been a few guitars being sold on the market that are supposed to be mine but aren't. This particular item on e-bay right now is a fake." The seller, a certain Wallace Autographs, has several auctions up on eBay with similar items. So far eBay removed a few items but several fake ones are still up, often at ridiculous prices.
