Born December 14, 1958 in Eastbourne, London, England, Spider started as drummer in punk band 'The Bastards' before forming 'The Millwall Chainsaws' in 1979 with Ollie Watts (drums) and Matt Jacobson (bass). Spider was vocalist and Shane MacGowan joined later on guitar. He & MacGowan would re-unite in 'The New Republicans', the band that would eventually evolve into The Pogues.
