Capturing the mood of an entire generation of angst-ridden boys, Steven Patrick Morrissey is truly a musical icon. Born in Manchester, Morrissey co-founded The Smiths with Johnny Marr in 1982. His lyrics and Marr's music ensured The Smiths were one of the era's most critically acclaimed bands. On going solo in 1988, Morrissey brought out an EMI album, Viva Hate which made UK No.1. A sting of successful singles followed, including Suedehead, The last OF The Famous International Playboys and Interesting Drug. Landmark albums Your Arsenal (1992) and Vauxhall And I (1994), cemented his reputation. WYEP Pittsburgh, 91.3 FM has an annual year end Top 50 Artists show and a Year End readers poll. He was voted #4 in the readers poll (despite cancelling all of his solo shows in Pittsburgh...we still love you Moz!) and he was #29 on the station list.

You Are the Quarry was also picked as a few of the DJ's , and many of the staff's picks for the year.
