I thought that this was quite funny - taken from Setanta Records' Homepage:

"Please note...

WE HAVE NOT SIGNED MORRISSEY!

Whatever The Thrills said on the Janice Long Show you misheard it alright!

They DID NOT say 'Setanta'"

The Thrills were on The Janice Long Show on BBC Radio 2, on Monday, March 10th. They said among other things about Morrissey, that he has now signed to Setanta!?

It was discussed on the message board, here.

This session will probably be on the show's sessions archive shortly.

Browsing in the book shop recently I saw they have copies of "The Spider with the Platinum Hair", a new 256 page biography of Mick Ronson, written by ‘Weird & Gilly’ and published by IMP (Independent Music Press). There are a couple of pages describing the production of Your Arsenal, making much of the critical acclaim it had (I don’t recall that though) and a paragraph or two about how Bowie thought 'I Know It's Gonna Happen' was a flattering spoof of his own 'Rock'n Roll Suicide'. So the egotist Bowie thought he'd cover Morrissey's song which he believed to be a cover of himself, (if that makes sense). Apparently Morrissey mentioned in an interview that the end of the song does sound like Bowie's song though he says it wasn't consciously taken or borrowed.

The book mentions that Ronson must have played on Your Arsenal although acknowledges that he's not credited. One phrase I read was that in the authors' opinions 'working with Morrissey was the best decision he could have made'.

Saw the Chili Peppers in Manchester on Tuesday 11/3 and after name checking New Order and Joy Division saying that the Chilis wouldn't exist if it hadn't been for them, Flea then added "and don't forget the greatest band in the world, The Smiths". Not much audience reaction though most weren't born probably looking at all the kids there.

Suicide Girls, the primo goth/punk pin-up girl website, features Morrissey in the form of a wrinkled photo (near Battersea Power Station/from Bona Drag). The lovely Chloe mopes over said picture, weeps tears of blood, gets naked and cuts out her own heart with a piece of broken glass. Oooer!

On a less Morrissey-ish note, in the accompanying journal entry she praises steak.
