Morrissey cancels tour
As if Morrissey fans weren't depressed enough already.
Former Smiths frontman Morrissey, who's built a sizable solo career on the art of being melancholy, has postponed his current tour indefinitely.
The Mozzer was to have played Red's at West Edmonton Mall on Aug. 27.
Folks who already bought tickets to the show can either exchange them at the point of sale for a full refund or hang onto them for a hoped-for rescheduled date sometime later this year.
While concert promoter House of Blues reports that Morrissey himself is very sorry for the inconvenience (shades of the song Suedehead), there was no word yesterday on the reason for the postponement.
The reclusive Morrissey hasn't released an album since 1997's Maladjusted, but is rumoured to be working on something new.
