Profile

WEA is an acronym for Warner Elektra Atlantic. The acronym was introduced in early 1972 when Warner Communications' international music division Kinney Record Group International was renamed WEA International Inc.. All subsidiary companies outside the US eventually changed their names from Kinney to WEA, too.

WEA as a label was introduced in some markets in the late 1970s. Label Code: LC 4281 / LC 04281 / LC4281

Please use this entry only if the displayed label is WEA or if a role is credited to WEA only. Use "WEA Records" or "Wea Music" or Wea International if specified by the logo or the different companies when credited as such.

For unofficial releases pretending to be on the WEA label, use WEA (2).
