Is the dialog chopped up like on the Quicktime free listen?

I just bought 'Live at earls Court' for $11.99 and 'Who Put the 'M'....' DVD for $16.99! Those are great prices for new releases! They sound great, too.

I picked up the cd today, and I was trying to figure out if this was entirely the Earls Court show, or it is composed of a mixture of songs from the last five gigs as it was slated to be? I don't have recordings of those shows yet, so I can't quite compare, and I don't remember what banter he said at which show, etc. The cd does not say recorded live in Glasgow, Birmingham, Brighton, etc...., but it does say on the back: Recorded live at Earls Court in London on the 18th of December 2004 in front of 17,183 people. Does anyone know if it is just this one show, or a mix of all five?

NME gives it a 7/10. All positive stuff although Redondo and 'I like you' get singled out as sub-standard.

Q gives it 3/5. Haven't read in detail but it looked pretty positive and it's a huge review (one page plus one page piccie). Sounded more like a 4/5.

Both reviewers single out 'You know I couldn't last' as a highpoint. Will buy Q at lunchtime!

FYI, you can download Earls from Itunes. It's listed as "Live From Earls..." not "Live at Earls" if you do a search. Sound quality is pretty crisp.

I bought Earl's Court yesterday. The sound quality is of better quality than the four "unofficial" bootlegs I have. As earlier posters said, the banter bit does not always match the next song ... so if you are thinking about buying it because of the banter, don't bother -- I still can't understand why this is even an issue?

Like most live stuff, the drums are a bit loud and can overshadow the guitars in many places (e.g. shoplifters). Otherwise the production is excellent.

I don't know why the reviews single out Redondo as poor, I love it!

All in all, 9/10, a very nice addition to a Moz collection -- I wish A Rush and Push were o it.

Although the odd song doesn't quite get the work-out it deserves (notably Daddy's Voice), the overall quality of this CD is fantastic. Morrissey's voice is very good throughout but in some songs (Last Night I Dreamt, FOTGTD and How Soon is Now) he sounds so good, he manages to add something unique to the originals and the band are also on form with outstanding sound.

At the show, I could tell Last Night and Friday Mourning sounded pretty special, but I didn't realise quite how majestic one or two of these renditions were until I listened with a pair of good headphones.

One minor gripe. Does the actual CD include the "there is goodbye and there is farewell. This is farewell?"

It was a curious comment. And it's not on the live streaming.

Overall, it's essential for any Morrissey fan because it mixes great versions of some of his finest Smiths material note-perfect live renditions of his newer stuff. Some of it sounds almost better than the studio stuff.

As a live album 9/10.

Worth it for HSIN, FOTGTD and LNIDSLM alone.

I am surprised to read that reviewers singled out Redondo Beach as a below-average track. In my opinion it is the best song on the whole album. The way he sings it is just so beautiful, that when you compare it to TWIFOCB on the CD, it appears as though he is actually trying to sing it.
