Black Box Recorder's Luke Haines on Morrissey
From Mark Deveney:
From
today's Guardian (Mar. 31):
'Life of grime' by Garry Mulholland
This is a small section from an article promoting
Black Box Recorder's new CD The Facts Of Life.
BBR's singer is Luke Haines formerly from the
Auteurs.
"The
two most common comparisons BBR get are to grumpy
England-obsessed has-been (!) Morrissey and
legendary French maestro Serge Gainsbourg. Discuss.
Luke: "Ha!!! Morrissey? I saw him recently, and
he was dreadful. But I quite like the new Fat
Morrissey look".
Very
cheeky me thinks.

Braid covers 2 Smiths songs on new compilation
From Matt:
I happened
to notice that the new Braid
(a now-defunct indie/emo rock band) album, Movie
Music Vol. 2, contained covers of "This
Charming Man" and "There is A
Light..." I thought this was pretty
interesting, if not too significant.
