I think it's pretty amazing that Morrissey can make it into the top 10 of such a list (and almost in the top 5!) amongst these other so-called "hot" bands at the moment. The people who are going to his shows did not just spot him on MTV; they didn't just hear his new single on the radio; they haven't read up on him in People Magazine. Heck, most of the people I know wouldn't even be able to pick him out of a line-up!

His fiercely loyal fan-base is one to behold.

I was about to make a snidey comment that the reason Morrissey retained so much money is that he's a tight-arse. But then I realised it was gross money! Good for Steven! Bet the NME would like to ignore such a fact....that there's a market outside that little island, where people respect him like it was 1986.

Yeah, out of this money he paid the band members $50 each, got Phantom Planet to pay him for the privledge of opening for such a god-like figure, and made quite a bit of coin. Of course, this tour isn't about the money, it's about wanting to sing!

After everyone is done patting themselves on the back about how well Morrissey has done in this insignificant polling of concert success, remember what the cost has been for the privilage of attending the shows. Fan, superfan, or mindless atomiton, the cost of his tickets are high. We shouldn't be celebrating Morrissey's "comeback" but our (the admirers) commitment to our love. After all, we are all he ever was.

6th! And the only decent musician on the list.

So what if the NME ignores that fact. No intellegent people read the NME these days anyway......

I read the NME. They are very amusing, even if they have bad taste in music.

Damn thats a lot of cash to make for a 1 hour show. I cant feel sorry for him anymore. Why is he so sad all the time again? Wow, popular or not he got enough to live the good life. Say how come Morrissey dosent give to charity ever? All this talk about how bad the world is, why not spruce it up?
Hmmm.. it all makes sense and at the same time something loses meaning.

I knew someone would finally put Dick Fox and his Doo-Wop Extravaganza in their place!!! I'm glad Moz is doing so well... but, on that list???....and who ever thought that the Pretenders would fall behind Dick Fox??? I'm heading over to CD-Now.com right now and getting all the Dick Fox I can!!!
VIVA MOZ!

Sugar Daddy:

1. What makes you think Morrissey's "sad all the time?"

2. How do you know he doesn't give to charity? Maybe he just doesn't feel the need to be vocal about it.

Whilst Oscar wrote: "Charity creates a multitude of sins."
