We stress that nothing is set in stone at press time, but history could very well take place during one of Oasis' hometown gigs at Reebok Stadium outside Manchester, England on July 15 and 16. Although it can only be classified as a hush-hush rumor at this point, don't be surprised if ex-Smiths guitarist Johnny Marr debuts his new band, Johnny Marr and the Healers, as the opening act on one night of the two-night stand. For Mancunians and fans of British rock in general, that would be the musical version of Heaven on Earth.

No...Heaven on Earth would be Morrissey and Marr together...not Marr and the conceited boys of Oasis.... Not to say that Oasis doesn't write good songs, but...they're not The Beatles...or The Smiths for that mater.

It'a too bad Marr would play with Oasis. He probably just closes his eyes and pretends he's plaing with the Beatles! ha-ha!

God I hate Oasis! I'm going to build a website dedicated to my hate for the errogant fools who think the are "the greatest rock and roll band of all time"!

I think that it's a good idea Marr is playing with Oasis and Oasis is a great band to get started with for Marr to continue what he dose best.

At least Marr will be playing to more than 1000-2000 people per show with Oasis. And at least he is trying something new and different, unlike Morrissey. Maybe that is why Marr has no problem getting record deals and is STILL respected in the music industry. Way to go Marr, but Oasis does still SUCK...

All of you people saying Oasis sucks makes me ashamed to be a Smiths fan. It's a pretty fashionable thing to say. And another think that's maddening is the number of people who believe for one reason or another that Oasis ripped off the Beatles. Give it up! Oasis is a great band, and your elitism will never change that. Noel Gallagher and Johnny Marr are pretty good friends. Are you people implying that Johnny Marr has no taste? Why else would he open for them? And for all of you who live in the UK and don't like Oasis but want to see Marr, please leave after the Healers' set. Thank you.

I'm a little bored with Oasis. It's both their own fault and the idiots who write in the Press. I would go to see them in Dublin this July if indeed Johnny Marr was playing back up. But I'd sooner see the man himself in his own headlining show. I just hope his new material will be less wooden and more innovative than many of the others who take the solo spotlight.(Hello Mr Weller)
Johnny Marr has never been bland and I hope he doesn't start now.

For Oasis fans, seeing Johnny Marr at the show would be Heaven On Earth. What a bonus to see the Debut of Johnny's new band. Of course if you don't like Oasis then don't go to the @#!!!ing show!! Nobody cares what "Heaven on Earth" would mean to you.

PS I don't even care about Oasis, but all this Reunion crap is annoying.

Phi-psi-
Thank you for your feeble attempt at cognition and humour. Let me give you some words of advice: S-U-C-K-M-E. Now, please tell Mrs. Marr hello for me, it has been a long time since I rang her. Please pass on my apologies to her and give YOUR mom a pat on the big-ass for me.
Cheers!
