Smiths heard in BBC football documentary

From Pierre-Michel Doutreligne:

On Saturday, I watched Grandstand (Saturday afternoon's sports programme on BBC One), and in Football Focus, there was a ten-minute report on Manchester City's push for promotion to the First Division.

The music played in the background was: first 'How Soon Is Now', then at the end, 'Please Please Let Me...'! Now, of course Johnny Marr is a Manchester City supporter, but as for Morrissey... well, not exactly!

From Paul Nightingale:

On Football Focus (BBC 1) on Saturday 15th May, there was a short profile on Manchester City who have reached the playoffs after some bad seasons. They showed some footage of the season over 'Please, Please, Please Let Me Get What I Want', probably just for the 'good times for a change' lyric.

I thought he supported Manchester United.
