From Tony Traverso (new URL):

Check out this really cool band from Norway called: Seaside Yet Still Docked. They have a song on their website called: How soon is life? They have 12 songs available for download. They list as their musical influence's of course The Smiths and Moz as well as The Velvet Underground, U2, Brian Eno, Joy Division, Lou Reed. Their website and MP3 files are located here.

Their music is very beautiful and his voice is very haunting & very Morrissey sounding and I think you will like them. I was just browsing MP3.com tonight and happened upon them.

Hey draise train. Did you wake up on the wrong side of the bed this morning? Did you not have time for coffee? Your name is a rip off as well. I wonder where you got your name you bloody rip off merchant!!!

This is a complete RIP OFF, but it's so well done I love it!! The lyrics are basic love gone wrong type themes, and the music actually sounds like their name would suggest. This band is brilliant and I hope people give these guys a chance.

These guys are really good. Reminds me of the feeling I got the first time I heard reel around the fountain...good stuff. I like Move On...

Some real good stuff. Needs a little more punch but I'm all for them!! They've got my support. Why . . . why do we care about the alleged rip-off? It's a compliment to Moz . . . don't you get it?!!!

I just listened to `How Soon is Love", & it's the most miserable slice of monotony I've ever heard in my life.

If the guy wants to sing like Morrissey, I suggest that he cut the original, unlistenable lyrics & repetitive uninspired music, & just form a Morrissey tribute band. At least the songs would be good, however badly they were played.

I'm sure that if a pig grunted 'Suedehead',in a Morrissey-type way, with backing from the other farmyard animals, you'd probably love it too! Just as long as it has some vague Morrissey connection.

If you want to hear 'Morrissey', listen to 'Morrissey', not some third-rate impersonator.

I;m sure that anyone with an imparital ear, could hear that 'Seaside, Yet Still Docked', are abysmal bandwagoneers.

Morrissey /Smiths sounding name & song titles, singing in a, more than, 'Morrissey-esque' manner, etc.. It's pretty pathetic really.

No originality

you're missing the point.. imagine having your own band producing morrisseyesque songs while morrissey tours antarctica with kill uncle material... i'm sure they create similar music because they like how it sounds.. and can play out their imaginations...

i on the other hand try to inject some originality.. (www.mp3.com/adrift)

I gave a listen and I must say, enjoyable. Wisdom to all of you who outline the fact that there is no originality in this band's technique.
Still, for the one song I heard (Move On), it had depth in the lyrics...mostly because it shadows Morrissey's thought patterns. I an artist enjoy any music that is put together well, and I give a honest vote over to this 'ripoff' band... pleasant.

Hi. Regarding ripp off. So what if there is a link between these guys and Morrissey. What about the links between Oasis and The Beatles, Pulp and David Bowie etc. The main question is; why don't "Seaside but still docked" have a record contract? My favorit song is "Wendy". By the way I have seen the band live with an acoustic guitar and a 250dollars keyboard. It was brilliant and "unplugged"...

I agree with you, Karoline. This sounds great!
And to you Frode. Why don't they have a record contract? Aren't you supposed to arrange that? I thought you were their manager?
