I'm with CUBIT - MTV couldn't (and currently CAN NOT) be bothered with either Morrissey OR the Smiths, so I implore you all to just IGNORE that request and go on with your lives.

what power does MTV think it has? aside from the 'lawnmower parts', i doubt money, which is all that MTV can offer, can be a moving factor to reuniting moz and marr.they really are solo artists now...but as the LP title says "the world won't listen".

Oh God! I HATE MY MTV! What the hell, I don't get it MTV sucks! I can't believe MTV has the nerve of trying to reunite The Smiths and The Pixies! Damn you know they broke up for a reason ya know! Geez MTV blows! See if these two great bands want to reunite let them do it on their own beside 88% of the people that view MTV don't even know who The Smiths or The Pixies are! Well today is my birthday and I have been watch frikin' MTV practically most of my life they would never play The Smiths or Morrissey during the daytime hours! Well I can recall for like a month or two like couple of years ago MTV played Morrissey during the daytime! On another note I feel that M2 is better than its sister station! At least M2 play the bands I like and I feel MTV is demoralizing the youth by putting all these stupid sex shows and MTV Model search! All I can say is that MTV is SUPERFICIAL! Wow this is MTV America, right? Why all of a sudden trying to reunite great, influential bands like The Pixies and The Smiths whom they never bothered with when they were alive! heck, they probably contributed toward their splitting up! True, they were never MTV bands, they were always too cool for there and anti-star. But to mention them at all is very odd, maybe they want them to reunite so they can make ammends for not playing them before, cos they realise that they were better than the @#!!! that passed for music back in the day... and better than the current @#!!! too - they're desperate! MTV hypocritical? never!

Instead of a reunion, I'd like to see Morrissey become the new lead singer for KISS and have Paul Stanley reunite with the original members of the Smiths. I'm sure Morrissey would do a great rendition of Beth (actually sung by Peter Criss). But really, in the next year or so, I see Morrissey and George Michael uniting to bring Wham! back. They will both wear those ridiculous yellow lensed glasses and prance around like a couple of court jesters.

what is wrong with you people?? although MTV IS rather dumb, you know that you would eat meat just to see the Smiths reunite. at least they even bothered to recognize Smiths as a noteworthy group to mention.

Please!!!!!!!!! Who the @#!!! cares!!!!! I would fly around the world and camp for a month to see The Smiths play, but like that is ever going to happen. I was only 11 the last time the The Smiths played America, so I was too young. I just thank God I got to See The Pixies play 3 times! Jane's Addiction and The Pixies at the Palladium in 91'. Now that was a @#!!!ing amazing show!!!
