What is most interesting to note here (if the caption above is true) is that Morrissey will be performing in London soon.. New material? I hope so. Anyone know about a CD in the works? US Tour?

Of course he will play London this year, and i can tell you with much confidence the date: 27 August 1999. How do I know? I am due to go into labour with my first baby on that day, and as fate would play it, i bet he plays when i can't go!!!!

You know, I should visit the Dragon Fly more often. Anyway, it's hard to imagine that Morrissey is going to play a gig in London. But then again, who knows what he's thinking.

please, please, please could someone get some sort of confirmation on the date of the concert...i'm leaving london on the 26th of august and missing the chance to see Morrissey would be quite devastating. So if someone is Certain on the date...let me know.

Typical!! I spend my entire life just a few miles away from Manchester, too young to see The Smiths. The only chance I get to see El Moz, I'm in hospital, sick to the teeth...and a few days before the date mentioned in August? I leave to America. ...thank your lucky stars...

Of course he won't be playing at the end of August - it'll be in September when I'm in the USA, followed by a US tour starting on September the 23rd (my first day back in the UK)....

I have to agree with Mr/Ms Muddled. A Mexican Elvis is a cool theory perhaps, but El Vez pretty much sucks. Oh well, there's no accounting for taste, I suppose.

I really wish i believed this rumour to be true. Sadly it seems unlikely. its very unusual for artists to tour with no product to promote, though Morrissey always like to be unorthodox.
if it is true, i shall of course be outside the venue at 10 am, making myself sick with excitement. but i shan't hold my breath.

A series of concerts in London will be announced, then these will be cancelled and new dates will be announced. Of all concerts probably one will actually take place and he will follow that with a concert in some remote place which is unreacheable for most of us. Same old same old....

I personally like John's theory. While I had been sort of kicking around the idea of going to Europe for a bit to escape my miserable life, I will be doing it with no expectation of a show.
More than likely, he will take El Vez's refusal personally and instead decide to climb in bed and watch TV.

El Vez is a great entertainer and an awesome satirist. A very underrated individual. He was killer in The Zeros(look them up kiddies!!) and he
continues to impress. If any of you blind fools(those of you who insult El Vez) saw him you would recognize the talent this man has.
