Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe have proved themselves to be great producers, working with the likes of Boy George, Liza Minelli and Johnny Rotten (of all people). I think their work with Moz, if it happens, would be magical. 'Bilingual' is PSB's best work to date, moving them into new genres of dance/pop.Moz with a dance beat? Hang the DJ....

If we're talking about PSB albums, Bilingual is disappointing and derivative... the best PSB album (and most Smithsy....) is definitely Behaviour... the one with "Being Boring", "To Face the Truth", "This Must Be The Place I Waited Years To Leave" and "Jealousy"... even Mr Marr is playing guitar on it... I can highly recommend this record to anyone who normally wouldn't touch the Pet Shop Boys with a bargepole... or a hamster for that matter.

In an interview with Moz I read once, the interviewer asked him if he felt any kinship with Neil Tennant since they both supposedly courted the same sort of fanbase. Moz cried "no" and then went off on a rant about how much disco sucked. So, this news about a PSB and Moz collaboration is kind of a surprise.

Mr. Marr played on Bilingual as well. But I don't believe that the collaboration rumour is true. Moz is too old to dance beat.

'Bilingual' is experimental bliss. I can't see how 'Behavior' can sound anything close to Moz's genre. But how sweet that you thought so. It was Johnny who wanted to explore the synth-pop noise of the '90s, not Moz. Maybe songs like 'Mute Witness' and 'We Hate It..' gave Moz the idea to push for a faster sound.

"There has been a rumour lately that the Pet Shop Boys were producing (part of) the upcoming Morissey album. According to Jose Luis Garcia Yubero however it is confirmed that this is not true."
I gathered from this site that Jose is something of a David Tseng of the PSB world. ;)

what's up with moz? but i'm sorry, the pet shop boys? ok morrissey really needs to admit that he is lost without johnny. viva hate, your arsenal, and i keep on forgetting the name of the forth album. are the only good albums he's come up with. the last two are i'm sorry to say awful. if mozz still wants to keep singing he should find a new band or call up the smiths for a reunion. i love mozz so much but i can't stand what he's doing. hey call me up i'll definitly give him some options or i think any mozz fan can. i just miss the old mozz.

Regarding my above post, I meant derivative of their own music... there's that Russian choir song which sounds like Go West part 2, for instance... it's not bad, but it's definitely not a patch on any of their other albums... the others (remix albums excluded) are crammed with wonderful songs. Bilingual has Se A Vide A, and maybe Before, but that's it...

i can't see the point of any moz-fan fearing that he might go 'dance' or wahtever just because there are rumours that he might be working with the boys in the future.
let's face it: morrissey uses mostly guitars, the pet shop boys use mostly synthesizers. that's the only real difference. they both have a lot of style, are intelligent, have witty lyrics and stand miles above most of today's pop artists.
so, i think, it would be good for both to collaborate. it would give morrissey some more (hi-)energy and it would give tennant/lowe a voice from heaven.

how can anyone say only "viva" & "arsenal" . . . and whatever that fourth album . . . (which actually WAS "arsenal") were Mozzah's only good albums?? guess it takes a diehard to really appreciate the ol' boy. . . . Moz & the Pedafile Boys? might be interesting, might be awful--hopefully not disco, forsooth!

I don't believe the rumors. PSB are fans of Moz, Neil especially. I'm not so sure the appreciation is reciprocal, though. If it did happen it would be great, but it's not very likely.
