Site matters (11/19) Posted on Thu, Nov 19 1998, at 9:44 a.m. by David T. <[email protected]> Alright, it's been a week and it looks like some people like the new site design and a lot of people hate it. I think it looks ok on larger monitors (I recently got a 19" myself) but not so hot on smaller ones. I admit I'm no graphic expert, but I'll go back to the drawing board soon to see what I can come up with so that everyone is happy. Remember this is a work in progress and nothing is permanent. I'm still trying to figure out what works and what doesn't. On another topic, unfortunately I have been forced to delete some messages lately off the discussion board. It is only a few people who seem to have problems with the simple rules there - showing respect to each other (and also to the site itself). I'm all for witnessing a good fight, but if you cannot make your point without personal attacks and/or excess obscenities, leave and take it elsewhere. Also I have deleted in the past obvious 'trolls' looking for attention, but if you see one it's probably best just to ignore them. Comments / Notes I think the new setup is very good. Much easier to navigate. But i'm for change and i think it is a good change. But i do miss the old page as it used to be. The new layout seems unnecessarily complicated. Now I have this "little" window on the right of my screen that I'm required to open in a new window if I want a full screen. I don't get it. David <[email protected]> - Sat, Nov 21, 1998 at 08:17:11 (PST) I think it's silly that you delete the messages where people defend themselves yet you don't mind the libellous instigator messages. Censorship is one thing, selective censorship is another. Oh well, it's your board. If you want to sit around deleting messages all day that's your prerogative. Does anyone pay you or do you just do it out of the goodness of your heart? I have been hitting this site a long time, and the site is marvelous. Your ability to keep it up to date is great. We surely would not want to progress with technology :-).
