According to the thread at Velvet Rope (link originally posted by Jones in the forums):
...from Sanctuary HR: Please note that Merck Mercuriadis has tendered his resignation, which Sanctuary has accepted, and at the close of business today will no longer be employed by Sanctuary. Further information will be forthcoming as necessary. In the interim, you may please contact *** or *** (to protect the innocent) if you have any immediate concerns or questions. --- An anonymous person sends the news from Hits Daily Double: MERCK AND ELTON SPLIT: As part of his expected exit from Sanctuary Music to possibly join Irving Azoff's management company, Merck Mercuriadis will no longer be managing Elton John. According to a statement issued on behalf of John's management company Twenty-First Artists, John will now be repped for the U.K. and the rest of the world by his longtime friend of the court, veteran British music exec Clive Banks, former Simple Minds manager and Island U.K. managing director. In the U.S., Johnny Barbis, who also has had a longstanding business relationship with the superstar, will reportedly consult Sanctuary as Elton's stateside management rep. Mercuriadis is expected to bring clients Axl Rose and Morrissey with him. (10/31p) ---

Wilde about the Moz writes:
In an interview from earlier this year, Al Jourgensen, lead singer of industrial band Ministry commented on how depressed and miserable Trent Reznor is, he then goes on to say that he would love to see Trent and Morrissey play Russian Roulette, and see who blows their brains out first, its a win win situation! You can find his comments on youtube here.

The Brickhouse Nightclub in Manchester, home of Manchester’s longest-running indie night and purveyor of some absolutely splendid Morrissey/Smiths bashes in the past few years will be holding two special events to coincide with the Morrissey G-Mex dates on Friday 22nd and Saturday 23rd of December.
Music will be predominantly Morrissey and Smiths all night with some other appropriate guitar-driven belters chucked into the mix. Everyone is invited to make requests on the night, so the music will really be decided by those in attendance, and it may well end up being nothing but Moz ’n’ Smiths all night like the last few events! You only have to check some of the feedback left on Morrissey-Solo by doing a search under “Brickhouse” to see how well these parties have gone in the past. The nights begin at 10:30 and go on till late (the club has a late license), and we’re only charging £6 in advance for either date. You can book tickets from Ticketweb by going to www.ticketweb.co.uk or calling 08700 600 100.
