Sanctuary seeks £130m rescue - This is Money

Excerpt:

Those close to the company insist that Sanctuary can still survive if the fundraising does not go ahead. But the size of its debt means that its lenders could demand a debt-forequity swap if it fails, since without a further extension to its overdraft Sanctuary will find it difficult to continue trading.

On the plus side, the latest album from The Strokes, First Impression of Earth, is doing well and is likely to sell up to 500,000 copies, while Morrissey, the company's best-selling artist, is expected to launch an album in the spring that could sell up to 800,000.

Please support this petition message board which will be sent to Ebay and the ticket agencies in the hope that this ticketing fiasco can be prevented in the future and in the hope that people will resist purchasing Ebay tickets in order that the prices of them will be forced to come down and to make the act of touting less attractive for future ticket sales.

I Come To Your Emo-tional Rescue by Kate Sullivan - LA Weekly, Jan. 18, 2006

Excerpt:

To complicate things, there’s also this old idea that proper emo should have a certain hollering whininess to it, the better to irritate, and express true earnestness.

“Oh, like Incubus? Or is it more like the Mars Volta? — no, Morrissey! The Smiths!”
