The guitar playing is competent and at times impressive, though the vocals aren't nearly as good as Morrissey's....The Coral can also be less mopey than Morrissey... The Coral's main flaw is pretension, especially as it shapes their lyrics. They want to be like the Smiths, but sometimes that excessive effort backfires...

---The Quarry Morrissey/Smiths night in London this Saturday October 15th. Because of a last minute problem at the Extra Time Bar Quarry has had to move venues. The venue has made an error and managed to double book the venue with a drum and bass night. Quarry will now be at the Essence Bar which is at 2-5 Carthusian Street EC1. It is 2 minutes walk from Extra Time and 1 minute from Barbican Tube. When you come out of the tube station you turn left and it is on the first street you come to. http://www.essence-bar.com/where.htm I apologise for the late change but it is out of my hands. The Smyths will be playing at 10pm - 10,45pm and from 11,30pm - 12:15am. The doors will open at 8pm and will finish at 2am. Staff at The Extra Time will also be on hand to redirect you to the right venue. Advance tickets are still available via the web site for £8 and entry at the door will be £10.
