Jed Weitzman (Sanctuary Artist Management) sends the document (original word format, 1.36MB) from the Benicàssim Festival. Text:
---
The Festival Internacional de Benicàssim (Festival) wants to clarify that the account of events leading up to the cancellation of Morrissey’s concert that previously was posed on this site, was due to the excess of care in defense of our interest provoked by Sanctuary Artist Management official statement.

The above mentioned account was not trying to question ever the professionalism either of the Artist or of his Management. The Festival apologizes should any of the relation of events included in our website have caused any misunderstanding between the Festival and the Artist and his Management.

The Festival did everything possible in order to Morrissey’s concert was celebrated. On the other hand, the Festival declares and recognizes that both the Artist and Sanctuary Artist Management deeply regretted the inability of Morrissey to appear and both made every possible effort to fulfill with their compromise with us.

Finally, the Festival regrets the causes that made impossible the Artist to appear at Benicàssim venue and declares that we would like to count on Morrissey in our future Festival editions.

I bought a few comics last week in Berlin, one by a guy called Nabiel Kanan and it includes some of his never-published one-page strips from the late 80s, early 90s... here's one about The Smiths.

Not sure if anyone is really interested, but while trailing the web for new and interesting music, I came across 8bitpeoples.com, a site with a lot of free, downloadable music made by artists with defunct console sound chips. The music is referred to as 'chip music' or 'bit music', and other names I've yet to come across.

The relevence of this to The Smiths/Morrissey? One of the artists (minusbaby) has made an 8bit version of 'You Just Haven't Earned It Yet Baby' from The World Won't Listen.

This is freely downloadable from this page, along with the rest of the 'albums' they've put together. Great stuff.
