I know some people have issues with Ambitious Outsiders, but they appear to have come up with an exclusive again. On their website there's an ad for a drummer littered with Moz lyric references, taken from the LA Weekly. Apparently Chris got the scoop from Boz at his gig at the weekend, along with some cryptic details about a summer gig in a huge LA venue.

This would certainly be in keeping with Morrissey's penchant for an ever-changing rhythm section.

THERE IS AN AD IN THE L.A. WEEKLY AND IT SEEMS QUITE SUSPICIOUS!! ON PAGE 112 THERE IS A BLOCK AD THE READS:

...

THIS IS NOT A JOKE!! THIS IS NOT YOUR TYPICAL KIND OF HELP WANTED AD. ITS NOT EVEN IN THE CLASSIFIED AD SECTION, ITS IN THE SECTION WHERE THE LOCAL CLUBS AND CURRENT SHOWS ARE. THE AD IS A PROFESSIONAL AD. ITS SEEMS REALLY MYSTERIOUS TO ME AND I THINK IT IS A CLEAR POSSIBILITY FOR HIM TO LOOK FOR A DRUMMER SINCE HE HASNT HAD A STABLE ONE SINCE SPENCER COBRIN AND WHO KNOWS WHERE SPIKE SMITH IS THESE DAYS. YOU HEARD IT HERE FIRST!!!

The Smiths are listed as the featured Live act on Janice Long's "Dream Ticket" Show for Monday 25th March. The Show is on the new BBC Digital Music Channel - 6 Music between 22:00 and 00:00.

The usual format of the show would mean they should be on around 23:15 for about 30 mins depending obviously on what show it is they are going to feature.

Hey David,
I emailed Belle & Sebastian on their website to help out morrissey & this was the response. It's not really news, but kind of interesting none the less. I was kinda of whining and they put me in my place!

P.S. The response is listed first, and my original question is listed below it.

Why does everyone think we have our own label?
We don't you know.
As difficult as some people may find this to believe, many of B&S couldn't
care less about Morrissey. I bet you he's happy enough as he is.
Cheers,

Neil@B&S

On a Norway record store site (http://www.platekompaniet.no), you will discover that The Queen is Dead was voted a point better than Disintegration (#89) (I posted it since I know that a lot of Smiths fans are Cure fans too). The choice was made by customers.

"...With the release of their newest CD, "Sleeping Stars," Garden of Dreams show more maturity and energy than every before. Stars proves these guys are not going to sit idly by and let the Chicago music scene pass them up without a fight... Singer Gene Blalock's voice and guitarist Jim Keopke's playing suggest that there may still be hope for the pop music world... The band proves that they may be the real heir apparent to the notable sound of The Smiths or other early ninety's British bands..."

I was surfing mp3.com and I found a band that is so Morrissey influenced, I can't help but let other Mozzer's know about them They are called "estep" and they have played shows with well known acts including Sweet and Tender Hooligans and Girls in a Coma which were once mentioned on morrissey-solo.com. I downloaded some of thier music and I must say that they have a clear Moz influence with a bit of Housemartins/Beautiful South in the mix.

You can find them at
