An anonymous person sent in a couple scans from around the time of the recording of Southpaw Grammar.

• "Morrissey - Miraval Sessions" - apparently there is a song called "Laughing Anne" and one that maybe reads "You Should Have Been Nice To Me".
• "Honey You Know Where To Find Me" - apparently handwritten by Alain.

UPDATE (Dec. 11, 2001): Boz wrote in to say that "Honey, You Know Where To Find Me" is a real song, and he was the one who actually wrote it.

Running around Los Angeles the other day I stopped to get a bite at The Cat and Fiddle, a small restaurant off of Hollywood Blvd. As the host led me through the restaurant to be seated who should I see but Morrissey dining with two others. As I got closer I realized who he was seated with. It was none other than Courtney Love and Michael Stipe. As I walked by I said "good afternoon" to which they all replied "good afternoon".

German Hurtado sends word that the paper "Diari de Tarragona" has issued an apology to its readers and Morrissey for the previously mentioned fake interview (now removed, published on Feb. 2) after his writing of protest. Apparently the journalist fell victim to a fraudulent contact number and impostor over the telephone. The paper goes on to thank a reader for helping in the investigations (the original story submitter, German Hurtado).

The Manchester Evening News (6th Feb) has a feature on Damon Gough (aka Badly Drawn Boy). The Manchester artist won last years Mercury Music Prize and best newcomer of the year for the magazine Q. During the article, Damon, aged 31, states 'It was The Smiths who made me fall in love with music but I was only 20 when I started writing my own material and spent the next few years playing in bands which never went anywhere.'

Lots of people saw this show last night (the episode was titled "Drew's In A Coma", Feb. 7). Tito was first to write: This week's episode of The Drew Carey Show has Drew in the hospital after a car accident. Much to my surprise, the opening credits for the show featured the sounds of "Girlfriend in a Coma". Sadly, I was the most excited person in the room.

Kerissa also writes: Tonight on the Drew Carey show they used the Smiths version of 'Girlfriend In A Coma.' It was edited for time and shots of Drew Carey flying in the air was while certain shots the usual opening went by in slow motion. The episode was about his character being a coma (natch!) after a car accident. Drew Carey usually has songs he likes on the show, so maybe this means he's a Smiths fan!

A good portion of the song was played at an audible level. Pretty neat considering this is aired on a major US television network, during the February sweeps period!
