Virgin Megastore NYC has been saying that the DVD would go on sale at 9am when the store opens on Tuesday morning. I just called the store now (Monday 8pm) and they are now saying that the DVD and passes will be sold at midnight, until 12:30! The store closes at 1am, but I guess they want people to clear out early. If you plan on going Tuesday morning you may be too late - call first!

Here is the quote from the article in the 10/14 Express:
Russell had to seek permission from Morrissey to quote his lyrics.

The songman faxed him back a letter saying how funny he thought the book was and that he didn't even mind the jibes. "Which was a bit odd since there aren't any," says Willy. "Still, he couldn't have been nicer about it."
And here is the whole article:

There are a few brief mentions of The Smiths cover band Louder Than Bombs in this week's LA Weekly. The article concerns mostly cover bands and not LTB specifically.

The band Wheatus who sing "Teenage Dirtbag" featured in the movie "Loser", starring Jason Biggs and Mena Suvari, came to my old school the other day. Since there is always mentioning of bands/singers praising Moz/Smiths,or noting them as influences, I decided to inquire the same of Wheatus. I asked my sister (not a fan of Moz or Wheatus) to go wait in the line for an autograph and when she got there to just ask if they like Morrissey or The Smiths. She thought this was an odd request and really just a shot in the dark. But when she got up to them and asked, all the students had to wait longer as the lead singer, Brendan Brown, went off about how "Louder Than Bombs" and "Kill Uncle" were two of his favorite albums, sentiments that the rest of the band agreed with. Though not a Wheatus fan myself, I still love to see all the magazine blurbs and interview quotes all the different bands and singers make regarding Moz, someone should start a list...

Last night 15/10/00 on "Late Night with Jools Holland", there was a new band that had the backing track to "Girlfriend in a Coma." He put his own words to it and credited the Smiths but the band unfortunately have a long way to go and are not that good!

Sorry I can't even remember their name!
